| The Interaction Between Various Engineering Disciplines: The Case of Fuel Applications The interface of various sustainable engineering disciplines and industrial platforms is crucial for a successful output. The importance of such engineering interactions and technology readiness have been defined in our group with a focus on fuel and biofuel related problem-solving techniques, ranging from the basic mathematical equations used for the chemical properties to the real-life applications. Challenges associated with conventional energy resources have stimulated interests in renewable energy resources such as biofuel, as well as clean local resources (e.g., batteries) and attractive power systems such as electric vehicles. There have been numerous attempts to provide resources for energy demands while protecting the environment with emerging technologies, but problems associated with the new ideas are not defined clearly. For instance, there have been clear gaps and rushed thoughts about replacing fuel-driven engines with electric-driven ones; however, this has often been without long-term plans for such system energy resources or recycling approaches. Investigations into bridging these gaps need to be put together in a brief overview. This research, development, and innovation (RD&I) interaction is an accumulation of work in the last decade and will be discussed in this talk. |
